Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed is the Senior Director of Modeling & Optimization at Bell Labs in Murray Hill, New Jersey.
His organization is responsible for conducting a wide variety of network studies that span applications, architecture, design, and optimization in support of ALU’s key customers. The team is also involved in the development of new services as well in helping major customers with network architecture and readiness assessment. The team’s current focus includes applications/traffic modeling, FTTN/FTTH, metro ethernet, IP/MPLS, NG optical, 3G/4G wireless RAN and packet core, mobile data, yield management, small cells, and network convergence.
Mohamed has over 25 years of telecommunications experience in Bell Labs. He held a variety of positions in systems engineering, network planning, and forward-looking projects. He is the author/co-author of seven patents and many papers that were published in IEEE publications, Bell Labs Technical Journal, and professional conferences. He is an Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy Member and was a recipient of several Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent, and AT&T awards. He holds a PhD in Systems Engineering in addition to a BS and an MS in Electrical Engineering.
