Biography

Fariborz Derakhshan is a research scientist and inventor at Bell Labs, Germany. He is working on the design and development of new network architectures, advanced protocols and innovative algorithms for future wireless and converged wireless/wireline communication systems. He has contributed to the creation of mechanisms to reduce the power emission of base station and the exposition of humans to radio emission. His current research focus is on the design of algorithms, protocols and architectures based on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for optimization of resource efficiency in cloud communication networks. He is further working on the technical and legal aspects of data protection and data security in cloud environments.
