Biography

I am a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, New Jersey. I received a B.S. degree from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from WINLAB, Rutgers University, New Jersey. My research interests are in the general areas of communication systems, information theory, signal processing and big data analytics in relation to IoT. Some of my recent projects focus on capacity and performance improving techniques for future cellular networks such as CoMP, NICE, Network MIMO, Small Cells/Heterogeneous Networks and Virtual Cells with Decoupled Control and Data for 5G. I am a recipient of the Best Paper Award in International Conference on Communications (ICC’06) for the work on multiple antenna coordinated cellular networks, a.k.a. Network MIMO, co-authored with G.J. Foschini, R.Valenzuela and R.Yates.
