Nokia Services Architecture
Course number: 3FL30636AAAAZZZZA
Course duration: 4 days
Price: €3,200
Course overview
This course introduces Nokia’s implementation of the service concept. Students are walked through the steps for deploying virtual private network (VPN) and residential services in a service provider’s multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) network. Several services supported in the Nokia service routing portfolio are included - Internet enhanced service (IES), virtual private wire service (VPWS), virtual private LAN service (VPLS), and virtual private routed network service (VPRN). It covers the coupling of a layer-2 service with a layer-3 interface, including spoke termination of one service into another and routed VPLS. Some troubleshooting of service-related issues and debugging is covered. It also covers service mirroring and some service OAM commands. All use cases and lab exercises are based on the model-driven command-line interface (MD-CLI).
Course objectives
After completing the course, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Nokia services
- Differentiate between a service access point (SAP) and network ports
- Explain what is a service delivery point (SDP) and differentiate between mesh and spoke SDPs
- Differentiate between transport tunnels and service tunnels
- Understand the implications of maximum transmission unit (MTU) size
- Use the correct OAM tools to analyze a configured system
- Correctly configure an Epipe service
- Manage Epipe services given an existing infrastructure
- Describe the purpose and operation of a VPLS service
- Explain the different types of SAP encapsulations and describe their behavior
- Correctly configure a VPLS service
- Define and configure an Internet enhanced service (IES)
